Raves & Reviews

This page is a handy reference to find posts in which I have reviewed a restaurant, a film, a book, or a product – anything that relates to health and well-being. It will be updated periodically, as I post new material to my blog.

If you would like to promote a product and would like to have it reviewed, please send me an email (mylifeinapyramid at yahoo dot com), and I’d be happy to discuss this possibility with you!

Heba….This is AMAZING…I’m in love with your website!!!!….But I actually need to ask about the Excercise plan..Is it something you came up with or is that a known workout to get you ready for the 5 K run?…Love it all and waiting for more :)

    • Heba says:

Sassou THANK YOU so much! :-) The basic framework of the exercise plan is inspired by the training for the 5K run provided by Runner’s World and the Mayo Clinic website (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/5k-run/SM00061). But since Sherif runs a lot (and trained for the track team in high school), he helped me customize it to my ability and my needs. I also love taking classes, so I added yoga, pilates, an ab workout class, and salsa to the workout routine to keep it interesting and to do some strength and resistance training in addition to the cardio. I’m officially starting this workout routine on Monday, so I’ll let you know how it goes… haha..You should join me by the way if you’re interested – it would be cool if we did it together!! :-)

Heba! I printed out your workout routine and will see if I can join you! My work schedule only allows me to work out 3 times a week…the weather also plays into it since I work at AUC and the track field is desertish haha Anyhoe…I’m getting on it!
        Ready, steady, GO!

Wow Nina, you don’t know how inspiring and exciting it is for me that you would like to join me! Even if you only do 3 times a week, we can still encourage each other! :-) Can you work out early in the morning before work (that way the sun is not scorching hot if you decide you want to jog outside)? Personally, I have a really difficult time getting into workout-mode as soon as I get up in the morning, but I’m trying to get used to it… the classes I’m taking are all in the middle of the day though, so that helps!

  2. Hi Heba, I am loving your blog. I look forward to your recipes :) I wanted to see your thoughts (reviews) about the different grocery chains that do offer organic foods (Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Wegmans, Costco, etc.). For someone that only buys organic eggs and milk, I am so confused on where to go for other organic items and where I can get the most for my dollar. So maybe you can add that to your review list here. :) Keep up the good work on this blog!

    • Heba says:

Hey Viviane! Thanks for your comment and for sharing your thoughts. :-) That is a great suggestion for the reviews section in my blog! I also always buy organic eggs and milk as well as a few vegetables and fruits (like strawberries, for example) that should be bought organic (as they absorb more of the chemical pesticides). I was thinking of writing a post about which items should be bought organic for this reason. I like the idea of also discussing the best options for buying organic produce (it can definitely get expensive!). I’ll be doing some research and writing that post soon. Btw- loving your blog too, and waiting for more before&after shots – gotta love those! ;-)
